The Audit Analytics Canada Auditor Engagements database identifies current auditors of record for every public company that files with SEDAR, determined algorithmically.
1. Understanding common uses
The Canada Auditor Engagements database helps you:
- Know who audits every Canadian public company that files on SEDAR
- Find a comprehensive list of public company clients by auditor, location, industry, and size
- Quickly filter out dual listed SEC filers
- Benchmark auditor-client relationships by auditor tenure
The database is available online, through WRDS, and through data feeds [Feed69] with the relevant subscription.
Note: Saved Search Alert and Daily Summary Email are not available for this database.
2. Understanding collection methodology
Currencies are converted from the reporting currency using the exchange rate as of the corresponding event date, such as Market Cap Rate, Revenue Date, Assets Date, or fiscal year end, as applicable.
The logic is based on a proprietary algorithm according to the most recent data from Canada Auditor Changes, Canada Audit Opinions, or Canada Audit Fees.
Important: In August 2024, the following fields were modified due to a change in source data: Industry Key and Industry Description were deprecated, and Business Phone, Business Fax, and Contact Fax were replaced by two new fields: Phone and Fax.
