This article aims to explain how company blocks and financial blocks work, to help you navigate your data feeds effectively.
1. Company Block
Company information is contained in separate feeds, called company blocks.
Company block fields are not included in the other data feeds. Instead, this information can be extracted from feed files by joining the feed in question with the corresponding company blocks via an identifier.
Feed subscriptions include the corresponding company blocks.
Feed Number | Feed Name | Identifier | Corresponding Databases |
---|---|---|---|
12 | COMPANY_BLOCK | COMPANY_KEY | SEC data |
68 | SEDAR_COMPANY_BLOCK | ISSUERNO | Canadian (SEDAR) data |
70 | EUROPE_COMPANY_BLOCK | ENTITY_MAP_KEY | European data |
80 | FUND_COMPANY_BLOCK | MFH_FUND_KEY | Fund data |
2. Financial Block
Each feed also contains rows of company financial information, known as the financial block.
Since financial block fields must be matched to each feed using an EVENT_DATE, the financial block is different for each feed. Use the sample files to identify the available fields.
The EVENT_DATE is different for each feed. For example, in Feed03 AUDIT_FEES, the financial information of the company is matched to the FISCAL_YEAR_ENDED of the fee record, whereas in Feed10 DISCLOSURE_CONTROLS, the financial fields are matched to PERIOD_END_DATE_NUM. The EVENT_DATE for Feed03 is FISCAL_YEAR_ENDED and PERIOD_END_DATE_NUM for Feed10.
