Who is this article for?Users who interact with Data Feed files.
Data Feed and SFTP access are required.
After receiving your data area information, you can log in your data area via SFTP (e.g. Filezilla). This article will list the different directory and file types you will come across.
1. Parent Directory
You can ignore the etc directory, which simply exists to make sure the time zone of each file stays EST. As shown below, today's feeds are in the feed's directory.
We keep eight days of backups in your data area.
2. Feeds Directory
The feeds directory contains all licensed feeds, as well as directories for supporting files for each feed.
There is all_{$CLIENT_NAME} _row_counts_report.txt file which shows how many rows are in each feed file for this day.
This is good for checking that the file you downloaded matches what was in your data area.
3. Supporting Files
Every supporting feed is different, but it contains extra information that is useful for the main feed. It is your choice whether to use the supporting files, but many find them useful.
For example, Feed60 is SEDAR_RESTATEMENT. One of its supporting feeds is auditor.txt, which contains additional information about the auditors who filed these restatements.
4. Sample Directory
The sample directory contains sample files for the feeds. These are useful to check the exact order of the fields in your feed files, as they will always match your feed.
Example check_column_names_feed_74.txt.
