Understanding Databases and Searches
Who is this article for?Audit Analytics Users using databases and searches.
Access to Audit Analytics is required.
Audit Analytics boasts an impressive array of more than fifty databases thoughtfully organized across eight modules. These databases are available through a subscription model, providing valuable resources for your research needs. For inquiries about accessing additional databases, please reach out to sales@auditanalytics.com.
1. Database Searches
Searching our databases is easy! After selecting a database from the dashboard, you will be brought to the database’s search page. From here, all you have to do is apply your filters and search parameters, choose how to sort your data, and hit search.
While individual search options and filters vary across our databases the interface will be similar. Common ones include fiscal year end, market cap, revenues, file date, industry, auditor, location, and market index.
If you do not select any filters the search will return the entire database. It is important to note that Audit Analytics csv downloads are limited to 200,000 rows. For some of our databases you will need to filter your search to utilize the csv download.
After returning a search you will be able to browse through the results on our website or download your results into a csv file. The csv downloads contain company information, audit firm information and fields tailored to the database.
2. Data Dictionaries
Each database has a data dictionary which defines all fields in the csv download. Data dictionaries are an excellent source for questions about field labels, methodologies, and other information about any of our databases.
If you have any questions about fields in a database, the data dictionary is the first resource to utilize.
